river of hope

The women's US national team was playing a friendly match against Australia at Cal State Fullerton yesterday so a bunch of us bought general admission tickets and walked across the street, a library, a gym, a pool, and some practice fields to get pretty sweet seats. It was a bust though - the lamest play I've seen in awhile. Andy and Craig were saying "women's soccer, a game played under water." Yeah, it really was that slow, and incredibly unimpressive ESPECIALLY since NOBODY scored. It ended nil-nil.

It's been raining the last couple days and this is what happens:
This is a pic of HIU's main walkway that seperates the dorms from the Darling pavilion.

Today I was interviewed by Radio commentator Kevin Pillow on the Royal's ROAR. I believe it is broadcasted on the web. It is the same guy that covers our soccer games. I was originally incredibly nervous - my heart was beating faster than he was talking - but after a few questions I warmed up and it turned out to be rather enjoyable.

Practice has been canceled today because of the lightning storm (can you believe it? californians are such wimps when it comes to the rain =) - well that and the ailments of over half the team. Hopefully the weather will shape up tomorrow so we can get in quality training before our game against CBU (California Baptist) on Wednesday.
