Missing a meal won't hurt!
By Herman Schneider
Since the days of Jesus Christ, who fasted for 40 days, men and women have abstained from food for many reasons; for health, for political ends, and for spiritual enlightenment.
However, the average person, not familiar with fasting, believes he will certainly die if he misses a meal. When you hear of a person dying after being lost in the woods or at sea for two or three days, it was not lack of food that caused his death, but it was panic and fear that killed him. Most people in fairly good health can go for many days without food, but the body must have water...
I calculated my approx. daily calorie intake during the cleanse: 620 calories. That's almost a third of my normal daily intake.

I was extra irritable today - it was comical.
I daydreamed of calling Comcast and chewing them out because our DVR isn't working again - I started getting severely annoyed as I imagined the contractor coming to the house and ask his premeditated question: "What did you do to break the DVR?" They always put US on the defense. It pisses me off. After plugging in their stupid equipment into the DVR it magically starts working again and they give some reason that is above my head - but in the end it was a system malfunction - NOT HUMAN!
I also hung up with Andy when he mistook a replay of the Stanford/Marquette 2nd round game as sweet sixteen game and unintentionally convinced me that I was missing one of today's games.
Nick said he could tell I was irritable on the phone this morning because I was short. Impatience can stem from irritability.
I have a mouth on me today. Definite increase in profanity.
I was loud.
Today wasn't supposed to be an irritable day, but whatever.
I want to go to bed.
