week flashback

all it's missing is angels' voices...

Thursday-Sunday I worked 40 hours and had 4 softball games. Pretty much all I had time for was a handful of hours of sleep during the wee hours of the morning =)... and mi amigos are saying that we never hang out anymore, that they never see me around, THAT IT'S ALL MY FAULT =) well, kids, if you want some Nicole time you're gonna have to visit me at work (which, sadly, almost all of you do) and, im hesitant to suggest this one: but you can also catch a softball game or two.

stiner has been my roomie since freshman year.

Monday 13 was Naumo's 20th birthday! we barged into her monday night 3 hour class - HOAR with Sonnenberg - to embarrass her, bring her cupcakes - natalie and jess baked them - and to sing loud and extra off key the ancient HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG. someone really should come up with a new version - and im not talking about the various restaurant editions... im talking about ONE new one that we use nationally - and the tune could be universal!

Tuesday 14 incredibly humbling afternoon at Concordia University. here's a stat for you: 2nd game NO ERRORS and CUI 16, HIU 0. ha.
GILMORE GIRLS is still running reruns. BOO. I wanted to get to the bottom of it so I went to the WB website where there's live chat and people post things about the show, most of it is nonsense... but what I did find out is that GG is taking a break and won't be airing fresh episodes until April 4th. The reason is that there's only 22 episodes and they have to find a way to spread them across the "school" year so they take huge breaks. They did this through decemeber and january. I suppose this one is like a spring break. Anyway, I wrote that the WB can kiss my "arse" in a post and the WB edited it to "hineyrumpus"... cool with me.

Wednesday 15 at our Softball study hall (we do this every Wednesday night) Coach handed out Hope International Softball Team Guidelines.
One of my favorites ones titled "Cell Phones": During game days, from the time we arrive at the field until we are finished playing for that day, cell phones are not allowed. This is also true for practices.
the problem with this rule is that on game days we will leave around 8:30am and not finish both games until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. that is a loooooong time they are making Nicole go without her cell phone. A couple of the rules are ok, i suppose, but the rest of them are nazi. I feel like I'm being babysat by my college coaches. I'm surprised they didn't write a guideline for potty time.

mom and tracy

Thursday 16th coach decided that we would have a 4 hour practice from 4-8pm. psycho? I would argue YES. Mom flew into burbank on wednesday to listen to a speaker for the seminary wives of Master's college. The plan was to pick her up after my 4-6pm practice - she was staying with Tracy Wilson and I was going to meet them half way. Coach ended up letting us loose around 7:30 and I went to pick mom up ASAP at the Glendale Galleria - cool place - and after downing a double-double, a cheeseburger and a vanilla/strawberry shake, and what was left of my fries *cough* mom, we busted back to fullerton so that I could make it to my 9:30pm soccer practice.

THE BIG NEWS
so this isn't supposed to be out until MONDAY, tomorrow, but we were all told Thursday night because the coaches felt that it was the fair and right thing to do. The Bergmann's are going to Chicago - Chris accepted the job for Head Coach of the Trinity International University Men's Soccer program. So, of course, this means that Kelly is going with him *tear*.
I'm not going to say anything yet about my status, but I do know and what I can tell you is that I will not be returning to HIU or CSUF next year.

Friday 17th Kyle Bressler's 21st birthday! I miss that kid. After a late thursday night of hysterical and sobbing soccer players, I headed off to work 8am Friday morning ONLY to find out that I wasn't needed and my manager forgot to call me yesterday NOT COOL. so i was up. i got back to the dorms to see all my roomies sleeping and madre fast asleep on my bunk as well. so I was SUPPOSED to have Friday night off, but AJ, the bossman, called me in. So I checked the flights out of John Wayne and brought mom to the airport that afternoon. Sorry mom we didn't get to go to Godspell and hang out and go to dinner with Serena and Jess. Sad. I can't even remember the last time I had a friday night off. What's even worse is Bossman asked me to close and I DEFINITELY WAS NOT SCHEDULED TO DO THAT EITHER.

Saturday 18th It rained all the night before so our doubleheader against APU was postponed. I was called into work early to train an insider with dough. Within an hour I was sent out on the road because only 2 of our drivers showed up. I took over a dozen deliveries and ended up closing AGAIN, but this time I closed as a driver and not as the manager - still worked until 2am, though. Driving was really stressful at first because the area is so big, and apartments are THE WORST. After a couple I got the hang of it and at the end of the night I made $63 in tips - that's pretty good considering that over half those deliveries were late before I was even out the door.

WHAT??? Not at HIU?? Have you prayed aboy it? Don't ever follow a person, you will be moving all the time. Stay where the Lord has you. Make sure you are doing what God wants you to do with your life.

Cole,
Well, if I was gonna be around(which I'm not) I'd say I would miss you next year. But, having gone through 4 coaches in 5 seasons, I know there are times when you gotta go. I hope you have geat success in the future, wherever you decide to go. I'm sure it will be great!
