Memorial Day Weekend in MN

If Minnesota is the Land of Lakes then Wisconsin is the Land of Indoor Water Parks. I never knew there was such a thing, yet I wasn’t surprised. Saturday we lost to the Minnesota Lightning 2-0 at the National Sports Center in Blaine. I started the game at forward – an unexpected change – and played 85 minutes. Bummer is we controlled the game, out-possessing them about 70/30 and we out-shot them 13-7. But the game isn’t about how long you can hold on to the ball or how many passes you can string together – it’s about putting the damn thing in the back of the net… according to the stats we put the ball on frame over a dozen times, but that’s about it.

About 500 fans patched the stadium, and post-game handfuls of young girls flocked to our bench to retrieve signatures – I suppose I experienced a false-sense of importance… that lasted maybe a minute.

Unfortunately we didn’t have time to go to the Mall of America – I really was just interested so I could say I had been there. I read in a brochure that it had the largest underground aquarium.

We slept in at a Best Western before hitting the 5-hour road trip. On the way back to Chicago we made at least four stops – one 15 minutes after the wheels hit the highway to pick up snacks at a Walmart. Somewhere in Wisconsin we stopped at a Camp Douglas and climbed Castle Rock. Around noon we ate at Noodles & Company in Madison. Finally we arrived home at 3ish and I went straight to Jamba to close… and now I am to bed because I open tomorrow at 6am – time and a half because it is a holiday!

Sorry you didn't win. Do they pay your motel expences etc? Hope you get to keep playing, I hear that getting around might be a problem w/o any wheels. Be careful!!
