our new place

serena and I don't move into our new dorm room until next week because TIU is not quite finished with the building. we did, though, get a sneak peek and I'm stoked. theres two bedrooms connected by a living room with a shower room and a separate bathroom with 2 sinks. christine is living with us too!

THE RETREAT for tiu women's soccer was a sweet time. we didn't touch a ball for three days - pretty much kicked back and had fun. the first afternoon we had a video scavenger hunt at an outdoor mall near Deerfield - it was a battle of brunettes vs blonds. we had to videotape things such as our entire group doing 5 star jumps in a random store, read green eggs and ham to some stranger at barnes and noble, get mall security to do the chicken dance, lay in the fetal position in the middle of anywhere until someone asked you "are you ok". i guess its a tradition - unfortunately the blonds won. we spent the entirety of Tuesday at our captain Allison's house about 20 minutes away from campus. she lives on 5 acres including badminton, sand volleyball, and a fire pit. we had a sweet time of fellowship. wednesday was tedious - tons of meetings and i had to get in line with a couple hundred athletes to get my physical and take a concussion test - which most definitely gave me a headache.

TRAINING CAMP started today and we ran the beep test for fitness. i scored an 11.8! that probably means absolutely nothing to you BUT IM STOKED ABOUT IT! we had 4 sessions today (if you include the beep test), 2 practices and a scrimmage. there's FIFTY girls on the team! but do remember there is a JV - we are just all doing training camp together... i suppose it is kind of like a tryout in a way.
