the game kicks

the after-game kicks

i was out shopping at Stefan's soccer store with my lil' sis' from Delafield and she was rockin' a pair of tan crocs. i spotted these peculiar kicks for my first time during a TIU visit in May - the trojan's leading scorer and 2006 senior captain, Ashley Dellos, wore them to the women's soccer banquet. during my summer spent mainly in the midwest i had more and more crocs sightings... tons of people wore these intriguing shoes/sandals/foot contraptions. i even met a friend of kid who's dad was the mastermind behind crocs. i asked lil' Em where i could snag a sweet tan pair like hers, but it was late and the stores were closed and we were unsuccessful. on my last day of Chicago Eagles Camp in Delafield my homestay whipped out a bright red University of Wisconsin tshirt ANNNNNNNNND a pair of tan crocs. if you know me, i don't really get too excited over much, but i was stoked about the new kicks. when i got home one of my high school friends asked, "what are you an Asian gardener now?".... HA, so I lied, I guess my first sighting of crocs was in good 'ol Woarshington when i watched my neighbors in their yard. my mom said the whole fam saw grandmas wearing them during their vacation at the cabin in depoe bay, Oregon all within the same time i got mine. When I arrived home and Mom saw mine her first words were, "do you really like that color?".
SO WHY? i don't know, BUT THEY ARE INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE. the adidas predator absolutes (top) are my cleats of choice for this season and after practice i slip into my crocs and ohhhhhh do my feet LOVE ME.

I have a pair of red ones minus the holes that I wear in the garden.
