im such a dork

mood: bad

around 11:30pm I borrowed stiner's jeep (my car is temporarily out of service - in fact, serena and I are both bringing our cars in tomorrow) and rode chapman into downtown fullerton to the FedEx Kinkos. its open 24 hours so i thought i would knock one of the items off my to-do list: make copies of my mission trip letter and donation slips.

this place was huge and kind of messy. i made my way over to the color copy machine and placed about 60 sheets of this expensive linen paper that I snagged from Office Depot into the paper drawer. i popped in my credit card and pressed START. i totally overlooked that the tray, where you lay your paper to be copied on, had some kind of oily substance smothered on it - well it happened to smother on my original letter as well and there was a grease stain covering an area of about the size of a quarter and it made its mark on the linen copies as well. incredibly frustrated, I examined the copy and entertained the thought of not caring about the little smudge - so I compromised and made a copy of the copy to see if it would show up a little less... NOPE... and, of course, a copy of a copy is no bueno - we all know this C'MON NICOLE!!

what i do next is kind of scary... looking at the prices for color copies, i see: 89 cents per 8 1/2 X 11. WOAH!- im glad i didn't just make the 50 copies I was planning to. steep, geeeez - and for just a minsicule color logo on the letterhead.

screw color copies, I'm going with the good ol' B&W 9 cent'rs. I proceeded to move to a B&W machine where I popped my credit card in, once again, and placed my donation slip sheet on the tray. 13 copies (there were four to a page) of donation slips ON BRIGHT ORANGE PAPER is what came out. yeah, you guessed it, I DIDN'T CHECK THE DRAWER before copying. i grabbed the stack of copies and slammed them indignantly into the trash can, collected my things and stormed out of the store.

when i got back to HIU, Andy was finishing up his shift at the Info Desk and, regardless of whether he cared, I did a little storytelling. while re-living the past events I opened my box of papers to show him one of the grease stains and noticed that over half of my linen paper was missing... I LEFT THE ENTIRE STACK IN THE COLOR COPIER MACHINE. ouch. well now its almost 1:00 am and I think I'm going to crash - Serena and I are bringing in the cars before Chapel, so were leaving nice n early, yay. This has been great though, really, its therapy - I think I'm getting less angry by the minute.
