hungry samurai

Azura Asian Bistro of Seattle serves the Hungry Samurai; a generous dish of sashimi and sushi.

Another Hungry Samurai...

The mom and I spent the afternoon in Seattle with Shari Yamamoto, Jon’s law-ma. She is visiting from California to baby-sit little Kaia for Brit and Izumi who have been in and out of Japan, India and the States recently. The little man has grown twofold since I’ve seen him last! He turned 2 in May and is the sweetest little thing ever.

Shari stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn and three of us walked while one of us strolled over a few blocks to University Village.

Kaia entertained us with his impressive appetite and tolerance for many foods at Mom's for lunch. The eatery was kid friendly, which was wasted on the little man who was more interested in eating than rubbing crayons on his paper menu.

He was especially messy. A bib with a pocket to catch food was secured around the neck and caught nearly everything that missed the mouth. It became a game for Kaia to spit his food out in an attempt to catch it in the bib, but partially chewed food found its way to the drawing menu anyhow. Kaia’s compromise: food art.

Restoration Hardware – this couch is bigger than my dorm room matress.
