Save the Music

School of Rock... Wow, so I finally watched this one. I must admit that Jack Black has failed to entertain me with playing the same character OVER AND OVER AGAIN in each of his movies. It seems that this is a common mistake among comedians - Adam Sandler. I'm not going to get into the subject of Sandler, just know I don't think he's redeeming himself by playing in these dramas lately.

School of Rock was sweet, I liked the advocation of music in school. It wasn't ruined by Jack who played Dewey something-or-other - a no life no plan lazy music bum who lived for the passion of music, music that could affect peoples souls. Instead of promoting the idea of the dead-beat, but passionate, musician we are left inspired by the young, talented musicians: the students whose musical interest is being fostered by Dewey - the fake substitue elementary teacher at some prestigious private school. We all know that music should be held in as high regard as any other school subject, and those who don't should remove head from.... well you know.... nevertheless we are reminded all over again by the performance of the bandmembers of the School of Rock that we should (vh1) save the music.
