Holgar, our point-man in Dillenbrecht sent an email to our coach this week. Here goes it.
"We were impressed of the way you "Eagles" live your faith in relationship to your friends and to others. Compared to our german behaviour you emanated great sincerity, warmth and an uncomplicated way to share your faith and talk about it. We could feel that you live your faith in the Lord with all your being and with a great implicitness in all you do or say. Also the testimonies in front of the non-christian soccer teams were very impressing. I pray that the holy spirit will reach their hearts and remind them of this blessed examples how the Lord has guided this lifes towards him. And that the girls will seek for the Lord and make a decision to follow him. I know that you and surely the other girls and many of us also pray forthem. The last weeks during the world cup we had an exciting time. The publicviewings from match to match were more frequented. For certain they all came back because you were there at the opening match and made the Eagle infront of the screen. ;-) The photos are funny, aren´t they? And the best: We really reached the people in town who we actually wantedto : Those who just wanted to see the soccer games and had no or less contact to church or christians at all. At last a little miracle was initiated. Some of those people asked if we could offer a Kick-Off group for them after the World Cup. So we can pray for the realisation of this group, that we can share our faith with them and that people coming there have an open heart for the gospel and follow Jesus. All of us were very sorry as you`re not any longer lingered at our town. But we enjoyed these couple of minutes on Frankfurt Airport. I think you also were glad to see us again."
Dillenbrecht was the small village that we stayed in during our first week in Germany. We nicknamed Holgar "Boogie". He was a sweet guy. I miss them all so much!
