Gblock: world cup FANatic

MY EVERY POOR IS OOZING WITH JEALOUSY... I called Pairlee this afternoon and she told me she has watched EVERY world cup game except for 2!! - and that's because 2 sets of games were on at the same time - BUT GET THIS - Gblock has picture-in-a-picture on her tv and she switched back and forth to watch which ever game was more interesting during those two sets of matches. INCREDIBLE.

There was a span of about 10ish days where I had no contact with anyone from back home while I was in Deutschland. It was mostly because I was staying with an 80 year-old widow, Rosemarie, (who deserves her own post, which will come soon ) who had no access to the internet and, I assumed, no phone plan that let her call to the US for any reasonable price. SO, of course, you could imagine how worried mom became and even more paranoid Gblock became - all because they love me so dearly (why? no one truly knows - I have just been blessed). One night at Great Grandma Rosemarie Beck's penthouse flat I was having a good long chat with God and asked him to somehow give my family peace through this time of no communication with me (I had assumed they were worred). The next day or so my amigo Jessica told me she had randomly decided to call my mom from her home-stay just to say hello and such. All I have to say is PRAISE BE TO GOD for His faithfulness to answer prayer.

So during the time that Gblock was worried about me, she decided that since I was in Germany during the World Cup, she would watch the games at home because it made her feel closer to me. HOW SWEET IS THAT? And she enjoyed it.

When I called her today she went on and on about how much she loved Christiano Ronaldo from Portugal (who advanced his country to the semi-final over England with a powerful penalty kick). What's funny is... Jess and I hurried back to our home-stay from our speed and agility training to watch the end of the Portugal/England game (Jess was overwhelmingly for England) and saw the penalty kicks - after Christiano Ronaldo nailed his in the back of the net, he revealed that charming smile and I announced publicly that he was GORGEOUS. Jessica completely disagreed - of course it was only out of bitterness that England loss. I suppose Gblock and I have similar taste in men.

So just a little interesting tid-bit of information... during group play there were several consecutive days where there was 3 consecutive games a day - that's 3, 90 minutes games of a couple weeks worth of watching World Cup soccer. If she continues to watch the 3 games that are left she will have watched 5580 minutes (+ stoppage time) of soccer during the 2006 World Cup. The point is, Gblock, I just want to say that I am proud to be your granddaughter.
