Batman Began yesterday in theatres... I fandangoed (can you even use it past tense?) 8 tickets ($82, yikes!) last night when I came home from work and a bunch of us piled in to go see the 10:45 at Regal Cinemas in Auburn. So Nicole and late movies don't usually work out, especially if I'm surviving on little sleep as it is from the night before and I'm just getting off of work previous to. I sure did nod off during Star Wars 3 a couple weeks ago so this time we made a pit stop for caffeine at the drivethrough Starbucks on 320th. But just know that I didn't even need caffeine because there was no sneaking a wink during Batman Begins. It was hands down the absolute greatest of the collection... I really didn't want it to end. Before I went my mom was like "ooooh it looks like its dark"... so, ok, there is definately and underlying theme about fear, but it's geniously used to define the adolescent batman. "You fear what you don't understand... you fear what you can't see... the only thing to fear is fear itself." Go see it - there's no dead moments - you will be entertained for the full 2 hour 25 min.
here's a synopsis from warnerbros...
Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful.
He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.
