A few of us, who had yet to go home for winter break, went to Red Robin for lunch to celebrate the birth of myself 21 years ago. Andy had planned the outing because he was flying out the afternoon of my birthday. Christine bought me my first legal drink: a tropical mai tai - I might change that story in handful of years, though. The waiter, Ilya, foreign-but-not, took my ID to the “back room.” I assured him that my phone number was no where to be found on it, but later he began to hit on my friend Steve…. Hmm.
The plan for the afternoon was an Audrey Hepburn marathon. For one of my finals I wrote a research paper on “her charm, her grace, her frail humanity and, of course, that stunning face which delighted moviegoers across the world.” Blockbuster only had her Oscar winning performance in Roman Holiday on the shelves, so Abby and I rented The Devil Wears Prada in place of Funny Face and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. We enjoyed Audrey opposite Gregory Peck in the romantic comedy while babysitting and ordering Ferrintino’s delivery dip dish spinach pizza. Later than night we went out to celebrate.
