my last collegiate game EVER

softball game, that is. KNOCK ON WOOD. so we ended the season with a doublheader against Vanguard University of Southern California on Saturday. It was our last home game of the season and we honored 4th year Senior DeAnna Terry of Spokane, WA - as it would conclude her eligibility to play in another collegiate softball game EVER. If we were to sweep VUSC we could have tied them for 6th place - last place. We previously fell to Vanguard in game 1 and then pulled out a victory in game 2, so snagging another wasn't a stretch. so pretty much we could earn last place by winning both games, we could earn last place by losing both games OR we could earn last place splitting the doublheader. guess what we did???- we took last place. is there really such thing as EARNING last place - seems kind of, well, wrong.

at the conclusion of the 8 hour day of suspenseful softball - ha - we took our last outting to Paul's Place as a team - *tear*. i don't know if i've posted about this restaurant before, but it is amAzing - its like Red Robin meets 50's diner meets Mexican food... it isn't too expensive and you can get almost ANYTHING... almost - please don't ask me if they have carp - they do have fried zucchini though. so what i'm saying is that it's perfect for a big group - no one has complained yet, and we have some picky eaters TRUST ME (*cough* - mandy - *clear throat*) - Miss doesn't-like-sandwiches-or-burgers-but-loves-the-bean-and-cheese-burrito (gasp for air.... whew!)

the banquet was on wednesday - we drove to Temecula during peak traffic and it took 2 1/2 hours to get to some hole in the wall mexican restaraunt called rancho nuevo, not unique or exceptional... definitely fell asleep. it was an ok time... Jessica got the coach's award HECK YA MAN.. love you kid, thanks for sticking it out.
