today i say goodbye to FW for another couple months.
airports should provide a wireless signal FREE OF CHARGE. John Wayne does, but not Seattle-Tacoma. im really going to miss JW. ATT $7.95. usually there's little time to bother to pull out the laptop, but today is extra special because i'm dealing with a plane that is leaving chicago - no surprise that all Alaska flights coming out of O'hare today are DELAYED. i was watching Conan last night - he was airring from Chicago - and his opening monologue featured taking jabs at the mega-airport. so I'm kicking it at C-11 with the good ol' notebook and these white plugs in my ears that scream "im listening to my ipod" nano so don't even think of initiaing small chat =). after buying my $39 one-way tick - thanks breau - i headed to special screening. what's nice is that although you get a complimentary pat-down and your bags are swiped for chemicals, in my experience with special screening is that you get through faster than others because there's such a little line IF ANY. i was selected for special screening because i had purchased my ticket day-of, i'm traveling one-way and i'm traveling alone. the TSA security guys always have to make small chat, but this particular one was asking me about the Russian black widow - I was kind of confused, thought maybe it was an inside joke with himself. I just hope there wasn't supposed to be some rendezvous with a hijacker and he mistook them for me, using his code-word jargon and such. i guess my imagination got a little far-fetched. i should have just said, "I'm not Natasha Romanoff, sorry to disappoint you." wait, no, that was probably what the alias of the hijacker and then I would have tipped him off that I knew what he was up to... my fate would have been a new and permanent residence at the TSA security point. I believe her full name is Natalia Alianovna Romanova - Marvel comics, by the way (in case I lost you).
if i knew how to play the guitar, and if i had a guitar with me right now, i would sing a little ode to my delayed departure.
TONIGHT i should hopefully probably maybe most-likely find out more info about what i'm doing exactly for the next couple months. SO DONORS: all of you that provided your email addy's, i will be sending out a mass update.
