no no no no no - it's not the hills are alive, my mistake - although i think i much rather have watched the Sound of Music.
last night andy (men's soccer), taryne (my goalie), jeff (men's volleyball), and I went to see The Hills Have Eyes. It was disgusting, unoriginal and incredibly dissapointing. Andy and I almost walked out.
When the US was clearing areas for nuclear bomb testing, miner families in a town in the middle of nowhere refused to leave, and instead hid in their mining caves. The bombing blew everything to ashes, and also caused them to produce mutated offspring.
The Carter family decides to drive to San Diego in a suburban hitching a twinkie trailor. They are on a highway in the middle of nowhere'sville and after stopping at a station to refuel they receive a bad tip from the lone convienence store dweller... "up a couple miles there's a dirt road, take a left, you can't miss it, it should cut your trip down a couple hours."
Of course, they follow the bad tip and find themselves stranded among desert, dirt hills and a mutant colony.
The movie was a cross-bread between Wrong Turn (a group of friends are on the way to, i don't remember, but they get lost in the middle of nowhere and become the prey of mutated beings) and the Texas Chainsaw Massaccre (a group of friends are on the way to a concert, they pick up a stray girl walking down the same road, she blows her head off in their vanagon, they end up meeting some guy who had a mutation/disease - the insecurity of his looks feeds his hate toward others). The cinematography was waaaay too similar to TCM and the plot line of road trip to taking the wrong dirt road to becoming the prey of a mutant family was waaaaay too similar to Wrong Turn. One of the mutants from the Hills Have Eyes looks just like Sloth from Goonies HEEEEY YOOOOUUUU GUUUUUUUYYS!!! Sloth made a comeback - major motion picture #2! Alright I'm done being a fool. Don't see the Hills Have Eyes - stick to the SAW series! - or the Sound of Music =).
what we can look forward to next: some movie coming out on 6/6/6 - it's got a creepy kid, those are the worst!... and one where an RPG video game no longer is played just on the LCD screen - also another kid, a girl!...
