Wow, so this day is either hated or loved. Those who find themselves neutral are most definitely the minority. For the most part the lonely feel like its Single Awareness Day and hope to get through it with as little pain as possible. There's also those who are in fresh relationships and they have to decide what is appropriate to give to show their affection without being misread or without going overboard. Oh and then those ones that aren't in a relationship but there is that someone they've had their eye on that they got a gift for and they are anxiously awaiting the response. And of course there's those who are hopefully expectant of gifts from the person of their special interest, but are usually let down. Then there are the one's who have been at it for awhile and aren't too anxious about when and what they receive because they are very aware that something is coming. And those who send things in the mail.... well that causes the most worry because you never know for sure if the person received your gift unless they let you know - even if you pay 50 cents extra for a Delivery Conformation Receipt =).
Last night I was running a fever and fell asleep around 10:30. We had Soccer training at 6 am and then chapel and classes the rest of the day. I was a little under the weather and since softball practice wasn't scheduled for the day I hung out in the training room with Kim who was helping me get a doctor's appt- for not only my sickly symptoms but to get an x ray of my dislocated finger that was most likely broken. Kaiser Permanente was being difficult and I wasn't able to schedule a same-day and the other place we tried wasn't covered by my insurance. So that was a waste of time. Instead I made a contraption with a 'surfboard' and some injury tape to keep my ring finger stable. THEN I went to go play ping pong with Jessica and Andy =)... not my brightest of decisions (my three fingers weren't much competition).

Cristian called me when I was in the training room and asked me for my last name and my dorm room number. I gave him the info and didn't think much about it. When I returned to my room after classes there was an arrangement of flowers, chocolates and a balloon with a card that read "I love you, -me" on my doorstep.
I will leave you to guessing who it was from - it wasn't Cristian, of course, he was just the one who delivered it. It is the most lavish Valentine's Day gift I have ever received.
After classes Serena and I watched The Notebook while Jessica fell asleep. We thought we'd be each other's Valentine's since I didn't have one around and her boy was out of state. For dinner we hit up In-N-Out and got back to the Darling Pavilion just in time to catch Gilmore Girls. It had to be one of the best Valentine dates I've ever had.
Shhhh!! Don't tell anyone - but Jessica and I sneak past the security guards into the Darling Pavilion late at night to visit the training room and ice our over worked muscles and, of course, my finger =).
Look at my mad skills: icing my finger AND watching gilmore girls - amAAAzing
