i started 6:15am practices with the soccer team a couple weeks ago for spring training... between the morning sessions and evening field/batting practices my body is mucho sore =(... I am hurtin' for certain - paps always used to say. we had a kick around friday afternoon at bastanchury, adjacent to hydraflow - our home field - with some new recruits... it was a sweet time. at the beginning of every season the team goes to soccer central together to buy new cleats. this year nearly everyone bought Adidas Copas - even me (which is crazy because I'm not a big fan of such boring looking kicks... last year mine were white/silver and red nike T90 iii). huge transition from the nike to the adidas, im surprised i managed.
Softball. today was our first GSAC doubleheader and we traveled to San Diego to battle Point Loma. What is cool about PLNU is that the campus is right on the ocean, and what is cool about playing a softball game at Point Loma is that the Softball field is the closest athletic facility to the ocean annnd beyond the outfield is a beautiful view of the ocean. I counted handfuls of surfers walking by with their wetsuits half-zipped and their boards underarm. we were defeated both games and returned to HIU around 7:45 where I took 20 minutes to get ready and then headed off to work to relieve my day manager. I was supposed to have today off but my manager wanted to go home to his wife. yep, i really went to work.
managing for PJ's has become a little more enjoyable. i think i've found my groove. closing on the weekends has been a little stressful because i've been getting out extra late due to high store sales/late phone calls/missing deposits... seriously around 2am (that's 9 hour days!). tonight we closed at 12am and i was out of there by 12:30 - it was a slow one though... won't always get that lucky.
if you buy a PJ's pizza you will get a sticker receipt on the box that says "your pizza experience managed by Nicole"... cool, huh? I didn't notice it until the other day =)
